SANDWICH PRODUCTION WITH 100% INSPECTION:

A production warehouse for sandwiches had a requirement to check the sell by date on the packaging. Errors were proving costly with fines imposed by the supermartkets for incorrect or eligible printed dates. Cameras are now used on their production lines to verify that the date is positioned and printed correctly. 100% inspection is now carried out for Verification, Positioning and Optical Character Recognition.

Euresys Open eVision Image Processing Software was used in this inspection system.



CAR MANUFACTURER CUTS COSTS:

With costs needing to be cut, man power gave way to automation in more areas of the assembly line at this car manufacturing plant. The cameras are able to inspect with great speed and give the 100% accuracy that was required. Benefits were instant and the camera systems paid for themselves with increased productivity and consistent quality.

Cognex Insight Micro Vision Sensors were used in this inspection system.



MAIL OFFICE SORTS WITH 2D BAR CODES

2d Data Matrix codes (bar codes) are now used in almost all areas of production. Recently a postal mail office has installed readers with imaging software tools to verify bar codes on letters and parcels as they are processed prior to delivery. This can be now be performed day and night at high speeds with 100% accuracy.

MVTec ActivVision Tools were used to read this 2D Data Matrix code.




PHARMACEUTICAL GIANT CHECKS BLISTER PACKS

The main objective to this inspection system was to ensure that the blister tablet packs were being produced and filled correctly. Originally used to detect if pills where missing, it is now also detecting damaged pills. The quality of the product and packaging has improved, resulting in greater customer satisfaction and manufacturers confidence.

Powerful HALCON Image Processing Software was used in this multi-tasking solution.




CAPS CHECKED ON PLASTIC BOTTLES

The main objective was to provide a system that would automatically inspect for the presence of the bottle neck and cap applied correctly to each bottle manufactured and to reject any bottles that failed to meet this requirement. Automatically disgarding failures has lead to less down time of the production line and greater productivity.
