Why use a Megapixel camera ?

All cameras in this section have a resolution of 1000x1000pixels or greater. They are based on progressive scan technology and are used in applications that require a higher resolving power than a standard camera can offer.

Higher resolving power means more accurate results for a given field of view and is creating solutions to applications that in the past have been impossible or compromised. The success of 1394 and more recently GigE Vision is making megapixel (MP) solutions more affordable than ever.

The options include CCD and CMOS, monochrome and colour , 1MP to 16MP resolution and with output formats such as 1394, CameraLink and GigE Vision.
